I purchased this at the CHP Academy auction in Sacramento about 3 years ago.
I have put on around 3k miles since then. When first purchased I took it to Sean
at the Undealership BMW repair shop, just ask around, he is factory trained.
I had him do a full service changing all fluids and adjusting everything to bring it
into full factory specs and adjustment. This alone cost around $2900. I have the receipt
for this work and other work/maintenance he has done.
CHP Sold it with a salvage title because while it was a Bakersfield patrol unit they had
a shop do some work on it and they did not tighten the rear brake caliper and it came loose
damaging the rear wheel and caliper, they had it serviced replacing the rear wheel and caliper
and the timing was such that the new bikes were being issued and so this one went to auction just
after all the repairs were completed and the bike was back on patrol for only a few months.
3 months ago I took it to San Jose BMW and had the fuel pump recall service done getting
a new fuel pump and at that time I had them replace the fuel level strip that reads how much fuel
is in the tank.
